I have for sale a like new Cooper Model 54 in 260 Rem. It has a 22 inch stainless barrel, internal box magazine. Weighs 6.5 lbs. I fired this rifle less than 40 times at the range. Never got to take it hunting and now it sits in the safe. I need to make some room. It will come with all the paperwork and test target from Cooper. Barrel is 1 in 8 twist so it will stabilize anything in the .264 class of bullets. I will include the Talley lightweight scope mounts if you want them. Scope is not included but I am willing to sell if you want the whole package. The scope is a Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10. Price for rifle is $1650.00 + actual shipping to FFL Whole package with scope $1950.00 + actual shipping to FFL
Enough already, just shoot it!

I know those targets provided by Cooper are shot at 40/50 yards. How did it shoot at 100, 200, etc with hunting ammo?

I have this configuration in 280 Rem, it is my favorite rifle. The buyer will not be disappointed.
Man, my play fund is always low when these gems come up.

I wish I had the cash for this one. Man, I've been looking for a 54 in a great caliber for awhile now. Always when I'm broke. Lol. Free bump for a great gun.

Unless Cooper has changed the way they do it in the last year or two they have always supplied their targets from an underground range at their facility. I want to say it was 45yds but I am not positive on that. I know it was right around the 50yd mark. I know it was not much more than that if any. Not taking anything away from Coopers as I've had 4 of them over the years and they all shot great!!! Great gun here! Reno

I'm not taking anything away from them either, but the guys at Cooper themselves told me, which is why I'm asking about the extended ranges.

And they may have changed the way test them or I've had wrong info all along. Either way they know what they are doing and make great guns. If the guys at Cooper told you I would have to go with that.

I've been lusting for one of these Cooper's anyway......but you'd have to admit, providing a 50 yd group, with match grade ammo, is kind of, well......a bit odd?

I called Cooper and asked this question a couple of years ago. They shoot their targets at 42 yards. They said that's all the range they had room for. That said, I'd LOVE to have this gun. But, the question as to how it shoots at 100 and 200 yards is valid.
Life's too short to share it with an ugly gun.

Thanks guys, Good question on groups. I only shot at 100 and 400 yards which is what my range is limited to. and I only tried two bullets.
With 125gr partitions and 140gr VLD's. I shoot 3 shot groups in my hunting rifles.
The 125's over H414 shot into groups of .5-.65 inches at 100 and right at 3.8 inches at 400 yards.
The 140 VLD's over H414 shot super with 2 groups at 100 of .3 and .36, at 400 I shot one of the best groups of my life at 2.1 inches.
Enough already, just shoot it!
