Only Woolworths where I was from..also remember S. H. Kress & Co. called The Five & Dime or Dime Store by most.
I bet you're talking about the one in Paducah. It's closed now, but there's a mural painted on the window that makes it look like people are sitting at the counter.

Can't remember if it was Woolworth's or Kresges, but do remember they had HOT peanuts. You got a decent sized bag for 5 cents! Life was good!!!!
Some mornings, it just does not feel worth it to chew through the straps!~

Yellow front wasn't big like a Woolworths, but had daily staples... cloths, shoes, toys, sporting goods, fishing equipment... my dad bought his ammo and deer tags across the counter... us boys got our BBs.
Smitty's was the first mega store back in the 70s... full groceries, Bank, cloths, outdoors, anything and everything, even a decent restaurant. I opened my first bank account there, bought my 870 wingmaster and reloading components in highschool. It was bought out by Kroger, the restaurants closed, and PC'ed.
Kent yep - +1 - Smitty's was the best thing that happened to Az in the day bought 308 model 788 tasco4x 159.99 40 yrs ago - best gun I ever bought- be using it in dec. yellow front and yates even ace hardware sold lots of good hunting/camping stuff back in the day

No...none of the above. But I remember Black & White TV. I remember no TV, Sprouse-Reitz, and Woolworth. Reno was pretty small.

Wearing a baseball cap reversed when you face the sun is stupid, but wearing it reversed when the sun is behind you keeps your neck from getting sun burned.
When sitting on an elevated stand, the bill of my cap faces the sun, no matter which way I am facing.
Bending the bill up allows you to look up without moving your head.
As to the OP, there was said to be a Revco over in the big city but I never saw it.

From the list, just Gambles, Revco, and Woolworth's. I would add Gibson's. I am happy to report Gibson's is not extinct. One in Kerrville where my folks live gets a visit from yours truly each time I go there. They still sell guns and have a great counter and full compliment of reloading supplies. Believe it or not I was able to get actual CZ rings and mounts for Dad's Cz 550!! God Bless Gibson's.

There's still a Western Auto in Minden. Has tires, lawn mowers, parts, etc.
