Ya know if I was a bettin' man,

I'd lay odds that some critters will be "trapped" one way or the other this weekend and sent to that Petting Zoo in the Sky.

G, every Saturday morning our local radio station broadcasts 'Grass Roots Gold'. It is generally pretty entertaining.

Old school country songs, great commentary.

SamO,

I luv that kind of stuff. There is an old fart that has a show on Pacifica radio in houston called Spare Change. His handle is "your friend and mine, Larry Winter". Now I'm politically much more to the right, but I really enjoy the wax he spins as its something you'll not hear anyplace else.

Stuff like John Prine and Iris DeMint..........

Don't know if you have access to Pandora Radio. Its a free app. You can download it to your computer or smart phone.
Once you've downloaded the app, you can punch in just about any artist and it will set a station that plays his/her music and related genre along with commentary.

Best,

GWB

I usually go to my lease once a month for three to five days. I can do so for $300 to $500 per trip including fuel and groceries, etc. In other words for the price of a western states hunt.

You've good reason to be content where you're at..But you can do those hunts you went on for the cost of the tag and fuel, cutting out the fluff of a guide that lines you up with a dink muley that you could kill out of the window of a truck on nearly any country road..

Rosco1,

10/4 on all that!!!

As the song sez, I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now,

or

a fool and his money are soon parted.

And there's a little more to the story on both trips.

The Colorado trip was a bummer except for the scenery.

The Montana hunt was probably one the best experiences I've had other than seeing my three kids births.

Both were a learning experience, and education is usually costly in both time and money.

Great Byrds selection. You ever find it, give the Byrds "Sweetheart Of The Rodeo" album a whirl. First heard that jewel back around '68 or so?

My fav-o-rite Prine tune, besides Paradise, is this'un here:
