I'll post a couple of more pictures of the handle soon as my camera battery charges.
Clean-up isn't so bad for most of the work these knives do. Sitting on a desk and opening a few letters doesn't get them too dirty.
They are designed to do the normal work of a hunter though and I would not hesitate to use it for dressing a deer. A little soap and warm water should clean it up just fine and like all stag handle knives a little fine mineral oil rubbed on it from time to time will keep it looking good for generations.
This Bowie shows a little more of what we do with carved handles. This one has a carved Damascus blade as well. I have used this knife to chop a 2X4 in two with no problems and I would not hesitate to use the knife for its intended purpose if the need arose. Stag is tough stuff and the carved handle is still about 1/4 inch thick with built in support at each end.
