hey guys , i got a 7mm saum remmy 700 with a 24 inch barrel that is a fricking shooting son of a gun with factory 140 remington core loc ultras but they are getting hard to find . well i ended up with 2 sets of dies to load it now but the question i have is , is it ok to make 7mm saum out of 300 saum brass ? a buddy of mine give me 4 boxes of 300 saum brass and i would love to use it if i could . i ran about 4 pieces through my die and they look and chamber fine but the case length is a little short . they measure like 2.012 and the trim length on the 7mm saum is 2.025 , is that going to be a problem? and if i can use them is there anything else that i need to check for before loading them ? thanks in advance

The case length being a little short wont hurt anything. The trim length on the 300SAUM is 2.005.You wont have to trim the brass for awhile thats a plus.

We run 300 brass in my dad's 7mmSAUMs, as that's all we could find. No problems. We size it down until it chambers with a touch of resistance, then tighten the die down another tenth of a turn.
Now with even more aplomb
