And upon our arrival, I am taking her family out to supper. The phone call just came in, it appears the vote was tallied and the decision is CRACKER BARREL for supper.

Words escape me

Don't foget to tip the wait staff. After you pickup the check, of course.

On a related note, I just don't get the attraction to Cracker Barrel. If I wanted to pay for a chitty facsimile of home cooking, I'd hire myself to cook.

The only letters in their alphabet soup spell SYSCO

Nothing like a trip so I can eat at a chain restaurant. Of course I've never seen any of them eat a steak any way but burned.

Sort of depends on where you are as to how bad the CB is.

What's the location and alternatives? (Want to know how bad you have it....)

The only thing I like at Cracker Barrel is there Chicken & Dumplings. But if I never ate there again, it sure wouldn't hurt my feelings.

If I go to that kind of Resterant, I usually go to Chili's. I LOVE their fried Chicken Chrispers! Otherwise, I'd rather stay home & cook a medium rare Filet on the grill

The only things I eat at a Cracker Barrel are the Vegetable Plate Dinner and the Smokehouse Breakfast.

I try not to eat at chain restaurants at all.

You have my sympathies and not just for the dinner choice.

Not to worry, we've got it planned out. Supper at 4pm (that's when grandma likes to eat), we'll order iced tea and split an order of french fries.

Philly cheese steak at 9pm on the way back to the hotel!

It always amazes me how many people like to snootily proclaim how they don't eat at chain restaurants yet they seem to be packed to the gills and are making money hand over fist. I suspect they want to eat at 4 because they know if they show up after 5 they'll have to wait an hour to get into that awful chain joint.

I think you'll survive, you're just gonna crap it out 24 hours later anyway. I'm sure coast guard food was much more uppity. Suck it up and eat a chicken fried steak, you'll live.

No offense, but anybody that opts for Cracker Barrel around Philly, is a moron.

If I had other options whilst floating on the Bering Sea I would have taken them, but I didn't. There are a few other options around Philly.

Yep, chain restaurants are busy and popular, don't mean they are good. I think we are eating at 4 because that is when 82 year old women generally eat supper.

I hate the [bleep] places and I'm not prone to travel 1000 miles to eat someplace I can eat 40 miles away.

The family are all Obama supporters, those must be the ones packing the chain restaurants. This will be my 4th or 5th trip there and I've yet to have a home cooked meal.

Weird

I eat at chain restaurants when I'm on the road, draggin' ass, and gotta eat.

But as an example; I visited Minneapolis a couple months ago. I was there three days. I told the people that lived there to take me to the

1.) The best breakfast

2.) Best pizza

3.) Best Italian

4.) Best deli

If they took me to a freakin' Denny's, Pappa Johns, Olive Gardne, and a Wal-Mart, I would know they are [bleep] morons.
