I'm not a big AR guy and don't have a lot of experience with different mounts. Any "better than the rest" mounts out there for a low powered variable? One consideration is that I would like to keep the weight down so lightweight mounts are a plus as long as they are tough and can take a beating.
Thanks guys.

I have had LaRue, Boboro, ARMS, ADM, Nightforce, and Burris mounts. My favorite for a QD style mount would be the American Defense.
I think GDI or SPHUR would be the best money could buy though.

I have yet to find fault with LaRue though the ADM mount I had was a good one too.

LaRue is my preference. ADM would be second. I just like the latch system on the LaRue better.

Larue, Bobro, and ADM are the standards in no particular order. None of those are considered light weight but all are considered extremely durable.

Looks like Larue is a pretty common theme. I'll take these pointers and start looking. Feel free to add, especially light weight mounts. Thanks,

I ended up with an ADM as nobody had LaRue in stock when I needed a mount. I haven't regretted the choice.
If you don't need a removeable mount, the Nikon mount is a decent lightweight mount. Seldom can you have both light and tough so you need to prioritize.

Larue all the way. I have a Burris PEPR that's fine, but it's just not the same.

I needed a mount for a BR match and no one had a raised mount, so I wound up w/an "Iron Sighter" see thru. Not very expensive, but high enough to use a scope correctly and durable enough for hunting 5 or 6 years. Very lightweight. and simple in design. I don't know if you can drive tent pegs w/ it, but they've been on 2 ARs of at least 5 years w/ no problems. Oh , ones been carrying a 30mm scope so they can hold a fair amount of weight.
precision is group shooting, accuracy is hitting your intended target.
