Had a great hunt in NM. Unfortunately we were not seeing the really big bulls. But we did end up getting 2 good bulls less than 80 yards apart. One with a 7 mag and one with the 300. Unit 4 private land by the carson That was my guess. Did you hunt with Fishtail? I will be there on the other side of Brazo Friday for first rifle. Love the area....... Congrats!

Seamed like the elk numbers were up but the size was down this year from what everyone was saying

Sorry, who is fishtail? it is my family's property. They are an outfitter, but your own property even better! That is my favorite area in the state. Lots of elk and a few big boys. Great area just the same and you are lucky to have property!

Yeah my wifes family has owned it since the 80s I have guided it several times for friends and other family a lot but this is my first trigger to pull there. I love elk hunting. If I had to chose one animal to hunt it would be elk. I have not got to do it much but nothing beats just hearing bugles. Good luck to you guys.
