My buddy offered to sell me his glock 23, 2 magazines with extensions, 4 boxes of shells, and a holster for $450. I don't know much about pistols so was wondering if that's an ok price to buy it? I believe its a gen 3.

buy it for $450 that's about right, the shells are also expensive. I like the 9 but if you need a pistol you can't get hurt at that price.

You can pick up new Gen 3's for around $550, & you've got at least $100 in ammo, depending on what it is, plus the holster, so you're saving some money.

You can pick up a factory or aftermarket barrel in .357 Sig for around $100 and double your fun. The mags are interchangeable too. I have a model 32 and an extra .40 barrel. What sights does it have? It is a good deal either way but night sights could sweeten more.
