I bought this little Browning the other day.

It's a nifty little pocket gun, just like a real gun only smaller, 10 shot. This one has the short (?) barrel.

Here it is compared to a Commander sized Kimber (9mm)

I have shot it about 300 times with no malfunctions, it runs real smooth.

This target is 3 Inches on a side, 10 yards, standing, two hands.

I swear the Sun was in my eyes on those three shots, other than that, not to bad.

Concurring with what I have read and heard:

I like its size, looks, and quality - and the Browning 1911-22 likes all ammo - with good accuracy.
I'd also like to own one.

Thanks for the report. I've been eyeballing those but haven't really researched them.

It appears to be in the last picture.

I think those are just magnificent little pistols, very well done. They're a bit pricey and I believe that will always hinder them in popularity. For nearly half the price you can have a Ruger Mk III, either in standard form or heavy barreled 22/45 with adjustable sights. The Rugers are just wicked accurate and as reliable as any .22 auto ever made. But as great as the Rugers are, they're. Nowhere near as cool as the 2/3 scale 1911 from Browning. I picked up a Kimber conversion unit for my full sized 1911 and that is THE way to go in a .22 pistol. Thus far absolutely reliable, and more accurate than pretty much any of the $2,500-$3,000 price range semi-custom 1911's; just wonderful.

But the browning still has some other real advantages. 1- it's cool...did I mention that? 2- If you have kids it's off the charts cool because it looks like a "real" gun but fits a "little one" perfectly. Anytime I go to a gumshoe I make a huge effort to distract my son when I see one on a table. If he gets wind of this little delight, I'm sunk! (He has a factory threaded Ruger 22/45). 3- It makes a dandy little backwoods pocket gun, nearly as compact as a Beretta 70, probably just as reliable and accurate too, yet much cooler.

My only recommendation would be to grab some spare mags now while they're readily available, because I really think these won't be around for a long time...let's hope I'm wrong about that.

These seem to be great guns, all that have shot it went looking for one.

It does shoot a variety of ammo very well.

The Slide stop is really there, when I blocked out the serial number I covered it up.

The extra magazines seem to be hard to find, I tried to order some extras from Buds and they have none, still looking.
