I just traded for a Leupold VX II 2-7x33 Duplex still unopened
in the factory shrink wrap How much to have the reticle changed
to HEAVY DUPLEX?
Could would Leupold install the EXACT SAME Heavy Duplex that comes only on the Vari-X,VX, 1.75-6x32 where it stays thicker
to the center?
Thanks AMRA

They usually have specific duplexes for each line of scopes. I don't think they will install the VX3 type on the lower lines.

I will watch the classified section here and see if I can maybe
trade again on a Leupold with the Heavy Duplex I need.
A FX-3 6x42 Heavy Duplex has always been real popular around
here also the 1.75-6x32 shortie Leupold with the Heavy Duplex.
Thanks AMRA

Have just tried calling leupold for your optins?

Another good option could be the german 4. Not quite as cluttered as the heavy duplex but very bold

I hate offering alternatives when a straight question was asked but agree about the #4. I have had both. I don't see the need for any heavy vertical post above the center. Just seems a unwanted and useless addition of clutter to an aiming device to me.

I think it is $25 to change a reticle.

I actually think it's closer to $60

And I only mentioned the 4 because I know not all reticle a are available for all scopes

Again 1800 leupold and you should have an answer in about 5 minuted

Thanks,for all the information.
I hate to alter a still in the shrink wrap Leupold but
Leupold HEAVY Duplex is about ALL these OLD EYES can see
now in our THICK stuff here in Alabama plus my family curse
Night Blindness is getting worse every year.
I have never seen one in person but have read here about
the Leupold 6x42 Heavy Duplex a lot.
I am going to pull the Zeiss Conquest 2.5-8x32 #20 Ret.
off of my WBY Mark V 270 Roy and look for a 6x42 Heavy Duplex
for it. If not I have one VX III 1.75-6x32 Heavy Duplex I will put on it.
But that leaves me needing two more of them for my
WBY Mark V ULW 30-06 and my Ruger 77 RSI 7mm-08.
Thanks Any WAY AMRA

I had 4 reticles changed last October and the charge was about $65 each including return postage.

The heavy duplex is my favorite but does not appear the same in all of their scopes. I have an 07 VXIII 1.75 x 6 like yours and it does have the bold lines coming close to the center. If this is the style you prefer you may be out of luck. I had a VXIII 2.5 x 8 converted to HD and it was just like the standard duplex only much more bold. Unless it has changed the VXII 2x7 will be the same way. I just sold a VXII 2x7 shotgun scope w/ heavy duplex and it was just like the 2.5 x 8. I prefer the more open recticle that I have on the 2.5 x 8 and inquired with the Leupold custom shop about converting the 1.75 x 6 to the more open HD. The tech I spoke with said that the actual HD recticles were the same but only appeared different due to different focal lengths between scopes. Hope this helps.
