Gents, I just took delivery of my second Meopta product from Doug , a Meopro 4X12X50 and all I can say is that I've purchased my last Zeiss, Swarovski or Leupold. Extremely impressed. I have a 3.5X10X44RD on my 375 and this second one just went atop my 257 MKV. The RD already has 100 rounds through it so I hope their durability matches the quality I've seen so far. The only negative comments I have is their lens covers are flimsy and the click adjustment knob is a bit stiff. Other than that, the Schott Glass, ergonomics, fit, finish etc are superb. I'm sold! jorge

Funny you should post this jorgeI. I have in my formerly Copenhagen stained hands two Meopta HD binos. One is the Cabelas Euro HD version in 8x32, and the other is the Meopta HD 10x42. All I can say is DAYUMMM they make some great stuff! If their scopes are anywhere near as good as the binos are, then I can understand 100% why you rave about them.

As it turns out I'm going to give them another go. I sold the pair of Vortex Viper 8x42 binos I purchased after I went to Cabelas on a trip and tried their 10x42 HD and Swaros. Both fit me a lot better than the Vipers.
Don't know why but turns out I need more distance between the lens and my eye than the eyecups on the Vortex Viper provided. I recall the Meopta 10x42 HD Cabelas Euro was just right and I'm quite sure the Swaro's were very nice ergonomically as well.
Going back on a trip and I'm going to try the Cabelas Euro 8x32 HD to see if it fits as well and going to check out the Swaros again to see which I want to get.

Meoptas won't be as bright percentage-wise bit you'd be hard pressed to feel like you see a huge difference
What meoptas have over any zeiss is a much larger sweet spot and a flatter field

I believe Kenton only makes them for the Meostars.

What are the differences, optically, between the Meostar and Meopro scopes? According to the web site the coating are the same.

Are they lighter than the earlier ones? They seemed to be lead filled.
Their optics were very good, though.

The specs are listed on Doug's site here.

The meopro is fairly light, the meostars are a bit heavy. I've got a 3-12x56 meostar, the optics are pretty danged close to my Swarovski 2.5-10x56. They're great scopes. Meopta also knows how to make a proper hunting reticle, something a lot of the others can't seem to figure out.

I tried the Meostar 3-12 x56 it had very good glass, very bright, did not care for their version of the #4, I am sure a milder reticle would be great in this scope.

The #4 is what I have in my meostar and I really like it. Everyone has their own idea of what's best. The meostar #4 is pretty heavy, it really stands out in low light. Most makers reticles are designed for paper punching, the trend is towards the skinny ballistic reticles with all the hash marks etc. All that junk is useless when the light gets dim. The meopta #4 is purpose driven, it's designed to be able to see when the light gets low. It's not a target scope nor meant for shooting prairie dogs at 600 yds. What it's meant for it does very well.

i've a scope and couple binos. I really like them. If they'd come out with a rapid z type reticle then it would be a no brainer for me.
