Building a Rem.700 ADL with Lilja 10 twist, 23" bbl in 250 Ackley. Would like to use 100 gr. Nosler BT for whitetail. Any load recommendations? TIA

You can fireform and hunt at the same time with 35 grains of H4895.

I should have said more. I don't have an AI, that's just an excellent load in my regular 250 Savage 700 Classic. It produces a little under 3000 fps with great accuracy.

OK....that's right in line with the Nosler manual data.

I shoot a Kimber Montana with a 22" Lilja barrel. It likes 38.7 gr. of H-4895 with a 100 BT, Fed 210. In this rifle it shows no pressure signs, if you try this load work up to it keeping an eye on brass. J

I have a 700rem classic in 250 sav and it is now 250 Ai. My rifle likes rem factory bullets and sierra 90gr hpbt bullets. Powder RL-15 and Imr 4320 works very well. Rcbs dies and got a Redding die. With the redding die you can get a taperd ball and use 22-250 brass . The 22-250 brass is cheaper than 250 brass.

I just recently acquired 2 Carolina Precision 250AI's. If you don't have a Sierra Book, get 1 it contains lot of good load data. My rifles love Sierra 117's with IMT4350 & 100 with RL15.

I like rl-15 under both the 100 BT and NP. I think my charge is 40g (I would doubl check that) the sierra manual has 250AI loads listed.

Thanks guys, I guess it's time to update my Sierra Manual...it's their 1st one dated 1971...I keep updating manuals, such as Nosler, Vihta Vouri, Speer....now it's time for a new Sierra and perhaps a Berger manual.

What is the case capacity of the AI vs. the 250 and 257 Roberts? I have both a .250 and Roberts, but am thinking of adding a cooper. Can't decide on the regular or AI .250.

250AI and the Roberts are pretty much the same/same.

So the advantage is the ability to seat longer bullets like the TTSX to fit the chamber instead of the magazine over the Roberts? My Roberts is a short action and I could see where it might be an issue. I shoot the 80TTSX and have no problem but one day might want the 100gr and can see it might be an issue.

The advantages are twofold: a skookum fit in a short action and no case trimming.

I use 250AI load data, but have compared a few to the Roberts, all pretty close.

85's at 3350-3400

100's at 3100

115's at 2900

Loadbooks for the 250 savage is what he is refering too. Has the sierra data.
