So I took my first rifle, an '80's vintage Rem 700 ADL in 30-06, and sent it off to Karl at Kampfeld Customs for a make-over. He fluted the bolt, skeletonized the bolt handle, cut his floorboard crown, cerakoted in graphic black, bedded in a TI take-off I picked up on here, installed a Timney trigger, and did the paint job. My photography doesn't do it justice. I couldn't be happier with the end result. Now I just need to mount my FX3 6x42 back on top, and I think it will be just about perfect. Kurt

Every time I've call his shop, he answers. His turnaround is pretty quick on bolt fluting. Great guy to deal with.

It's what he calls his "special" crown. A bit deeper than a target crown.

Very nice. Karl has fluted several bolts for me. His work is top notch.

Beautiful. What was cerakoted? Just the bolt? I'm wondering how the black cerakote matches Remington's matte blue.

ROTR - 6.4 lbs on my crappy luggage scale.
Turkish - everything metal was cerakoted.
Pseshooter - mine was just standard blued, not sure if stainless would require anything extra.
Thanks for the kind comments guys.
