Just wondering; is there a short action version equal to the modifying a 30/06 into a .35 Whelen? Is it taking a .308 and turning it into a .358?

Not quite - but take a look at the 350 Rem Mag

I think that's what he is asking, the 308 necked up to 358 is the 358win.

If I HAD TO HAVE a .35 on a short, I think I'd take a good look at the .35 Sambar.

Unless you were also looking short for less recoil then the .358 Win would make perfect sense.

Got it - I think I misunderstood and thought the OP was looking for a ballistic equivalent to the 35W.

So...yes... the 358 Win

I am actually thinking of taking a .308 and re boring it to .358. I know that this is done with no problems going from 30/06 to .35 Whelen.
