i have a north face goliath 0 degree bag, most of the time its great, this weekend it was 8 or 10 high wind, non heated tent,

on a cot with a air pad, any way I froze with longjohns on,,,,

i like the size, the price, but would like a warmer bag,

How 'bout stuffing it in a bivy sack to block the wind? Use it if you need it, don't when you don't.

On my first longer backpacking trip I like to froze my 'nards' off one night in a high mountain cirque. Same thing .. not HIGH wind, but enough to keep enough air blowing right through the tent fabric that I couldn't keep the tent, the bag, or myself warm. That was a long-ass night spent shakin' like a hound dog trying to crap a peach pit.

Anyone who thinks there's two sides to everything hasn't met a Mbius strip.

If you were on a cot with a non-insulated air pad...

That combination sounds like it might be one of your problems.
You may want to consider a high R-Value pad from Exped.
You may also want to consider a similar girth bag like the WM Kodiak or a Valandre Shocking Blue. Looks like that Goliath bag is 4 1/2 lbs. These bags mentioned are significantly lighter.

The sticker shock may surprise you, but they will last you a very long time.

This. A closed cell foam pad is what you need, not a new bag.

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.
