I know this has been hashed out before. BUT I'd like to hear a few fresh opinions on what is a good tool to level a scope while mounting it? Currently I get by just eyeballing it and do a damn fine job but it is mostly trial and error getting the screws tightened w/o moving the scope off level by a Nth degree.

What do you use? Price? Link to where I can purchase?

I do not need the whole mounting kit- I have the tools to lap the rings. Thanks!

Why lap rings ? Try Burris Signature insert rings..

I've been using the Segway tool for years with great success.
When they came back on the market recently I bought two spares.

Reticle Tru is so sturdy, you'll only need one per lifetime...

I've known Jerry for nearly 40 years. Everything he does, gets taken to the max....his products are like works of art.

I've been getting lots of use out of my Reticle-Tru - I wouldn't want to be without one!

Along with a plumb across the room or across the yard, this is the best device I've ever seen or used. I set up rifles to shoot out to 1 mile+ and it's right on.

OK, Where do I buy one of those? I did a search and got pages of scope stuff but not the purchase info.

You can make your own alignment type device in about 5 seconds with an old CD case and a marker. Just draw a diagonal line across the plastic connecting the corners, and then line it up with the reticle, and point the corner of the cd case at the tang.

Jerry's tool looks pretty spiffy. But so far I have been making do with a pair of three inch spirit levels picked out of the bargain bin at the local hardware store.

Reticle-Tru. I've been putting it through the paces lately, and it sure speeds up the process of properly mounting a scope.

I've always used an everyday, run of the mill, square.
One doesn't need to "level" the reticle, one needs to square it to the receiver.
