I got my FFL a week or so ago and we're finally getting this business going. I'm in Colorado Springs and were starting with transfers and special orders. We'll build up inventory for sale online and at gumshoes as well. Eventually we hope to expand into an actual store, with the focus on customer service and fair pricing. We offer transfers for $20, so any local folks...keep us in mind.

How tough was the entire process? Did you meet resistance along the way?

It went very smoothly. We spent the 40 bucks on FFL123 and followed their advice. When we met with the ATF inspector, we were fully prepared and she was quite helpful. She wasn't out to interrogate or try to deny us; she seemed to be trying to set us up for success.
I sent in the application on Dec 12 (2 days before Sandy Hook), had the ATF interview on Feb 8th and had the license in hand on Feb 19th.
Our first little bitt of inventory should arrive today and I have a couple transfers in the works. Have also sold a couple AR lowers I had and transferred to inventory.
We started this operation with the spare change that had been collecting in jars in the basement for several years, plus a little out of savings. We hope to have a storefront within a few years.

Well, I haven't posted in here, or even logged on to the 'fire in MANY months. Been busy getting the business up and running. We're still home based, but doing fairly well, and it's lots of fun.
