please excuse my ignorance, but what is the purpose of the black tape around the muzzle of the stainless barrels? Keeps moisture and debris out of the spout and to some degree crown protection!

I hear blue is suppose to be better than black.... While black will keep wet and dirt out of the barrel, blue does so as well but with the following advantages: 1. Adds 250fps or more to muzzle velocity. 2. Guarantees .5 MOA accuracy or better 3.
