Hello, I have enough antler to turn about 200 Duck calls. Made these for friends in the past, but was thinking about selling a few to fund my duck lease. Found someone who would laser engrave them for a reasonable price, so the giant sticker won't be on there. I know we don't have a lot of duck hunters on the board, but what do you guys think? Looks like the price will be around $155.00 - $170.00 ea. I see others selling from $450.00 to $250 ea.

I would just say that while looks are important, the functionality and the sound will trump the looks everytime. This is coming from a predator hunter who blows a lot of mouth calls and have purchased many "pretty" custom calls that sounded like crap.
My "thought" since you asked, is to not overlook the call functionality and the sound quality.

To myself I say, why didn't I pick a more lucrative career so I could consider buying one-they look very cool.

FWIW, I'm with Greg--I'd want to hear one before I'd order one.

Any chance of a youtube video showing how they sound? It's a fair price for a quality duck call of that material.
Got a buddy I was tryin to think of a cool birthday gift for.
Either way, good luck

Very slick! I imagine you will take custom orders as well?

Thanks for the input fellas. I've made & used them for years. The sound is top notch or I wouldn't sell them. I'm not much on decoration either. The Youtube vid is a good idea. I can probably sell 100 in my home town, just need to find a home for the other 100. I enjoy making them and this duck lease is getting in my ass pocket pretty good, so if I can sell a few to help pay for that I'd be happy.

Do you make the tone boards and cut and tune the reeds? single reed double reed? I think they look nice if they sound good and have some range you could do good but I think its a little steep cause the market is flooded with custom calls by guys that have made a name for them selves by making beautiful and very ducky sounding calls. I wish you the best.
Ps there are quite a few duck hunters on here we are just greatly out numbered. Dont tell anyone but I have never hunted or killed a dear. To easy, grin.

Bob will take 5 and give 1 to me!:-)
I like 'em Dee! I would throw one on ebay with a you tube video to see what they fetch. I'm hitting camp over the next couple of weeks and will solicit the idea. Ducks will be part of the agenda! :-)
Look out Dynasty boys. Here comes Johnny!

Hi Seal, the tone boards are polycarbonate and bought from a dealer. I do cut and cork the reeds myself. Most are double reed Timber, but I've made a few open water and single reed calls as well. Not trying to compete with duck call companies, just going to make 200. May offer custom laser engraving, but not sure yet. David, Hope you have a good hunt pard and the ducks are flying! I'm running out of time on the football pool, but I have a plan.
