Thought it would make Sunday a great hunting day. Sat for 8hrs, no deer sightings & only cut 1 set of small tracks on my way out.

4 weeks t go, though.

Not everywhere is that grassy. That is a CRP field in the photo and we have about 200 acres of that. Prolly 150 acres of swamp and 60 acres of hardwoods and the remaining 200+ acres of fields. A nice mix.

Congrats everyone! Looks like a good year for deer hunting.

Cutting up meat tonite. We had the tenderloins Sunday night and boy were they tender!

Camp Isabella report.

Still trying to get the wife a deer. She is out on the stand as I type. This is the last of this years hunting. When she gets in we start breaking down camp. She said she is ready to go home. We have been living in the two tents since the 7th of Nov.

Do you have the Edge packed up? I bet you're chomping at the bit for the train to start rolling tomorrow?

Taking my buddies truck Tom. The Edge couldn't pull the trailer with the pug and other assorted gear. He'll be here around 11:00 today to load up. We head to camp around 6:30 tomorrow morning.

Just read a news report that Wisconsin closed their deer season this year. Sorry to hear that Bill! Just kidding! Did I have you for even a millisecond?

With the completion of cutting up my deer, my season is officially over. Next up: Roosters! Fair warning: if you are a rooster that lives on land I hunt, I am coming after you!

They were all ovet the higway by forest lake last week. You could have filled out in 15 seconds just north of Columbus. Roosters....yep reaaaaaal tough to get.

Unfortunately, that is the exception, not the rule in MN this year (unless you are talking about domesticated chickens!). Pretty tough last couple of years for the wily ol' ringneck. We will still have some good hunting, but it will be tougher than in years past.

Any Chickenbuck update? ND where ya been man?

Just checking in tonight here, nothing new to report. Snow is coming tonight, I may head to camp tomorrow after work to hunt the evening, then spend the night, take friday off and hunt, hunt, hunt.
