My Model 70 push feed (270 WSM) 's extractor seems to be just floating around without any tension or merit. I'm not sure if something is broke or maybe gummed in stopping whatever gives the extractor resistance.
Thoughts on what to check or how to clean?

You need a very thin pin punch to depress the extractor plunger through the hole in the center of the extractor. It needs to go down about 1/8" in order to slide the extractor off so you have to wiggle that punch a bit to enable the nose of that plunger to clear the recess in the extractor.. BE READY FOR PARTS TO FLY once that extractor moves off - contain the plunger and spring.
Examine both for wear/fouling. Remove both and clean that recess in the bolt head. Ensure the plunger is clean and that the pointed end isn't unduly worn. Clean the grooves in the bolt head where the extractor rides in.
ensure the spring is not bent, collapsed or otherwise damaged. If you suspect it might be, replace it. reassemble in reverse order and test..

Thanks bro...
I'm pretty sure I let some "Wipeout" residue creep in there. Strike one up for not getting it out of every crevice and being full blown window licker. I'll attempt to clean it this afternoon.
