What kind of trouble?

Some times in desperation the last (or only) choice is Numrich. My main problem with them is it is a crap shoot as to whether you'll get the right part that you ordered. They must have a gang of Rahway graduate dock apes working in the warehouse that don't know - or don't care about what they put in the box.

That said, their catalogs (current or old) are a must-have for reference material. That and Jack First's set.

Looking for a part? Doesn't cost anything to ask here first.

I always off MIGA first option, they are close, excellant prices and can cross refernece Numrich's numbers. then Jacks First, tried Lee's a few time, but their hours are not adjusted with mine.
depending on what you need, check Brownell's and Midway USA and Nu line (delaer discount)

Isn't that supposed to be "Illegitimi non carborundum". Maybe it's the three years of Latin that ruined my spelling.

I used to do a lot of business with them back in the paper catalog days. Even though we were a small shop, they were always helpful. A "few" years with uncle sam and I feel like I'm dealing with a different company.

I suppose it's a symptom of the times and they have probably grown. But yes, wrong parts and indifferent customer service.

I thought I'd get back into the game as a supplement to a pension. The business has changed; maybe more so the people. I guess I'll have to adjust with them.

Remember the days when "Semper Fi" was more than a tattoo?

Thanks for the responses that made the effort.

Never had any problem with them except they don't have all the stuff my hot lil' hands need. Maybe that's a good thing, where wallet is concerned....

In the old days, George Numrich sold quality aftermarket barrels for Colt New Service revolvers.

Then 30 years ago my youngest brother started buying parts from them for his beater guns.

Then 20 years ago I started buying parts from Numrich for MY beater guns.

Then there were the bad years.

I called Numrich 15 years ago about Tokarev grips.
https://www.gunpartscorp.com/

The woman quoted me a price that was more than half the cost of a Tokarev.

I mused, "Could buy a Tokarev for that."
She screamed angrily, "THEN DO IT!"

But for the last 10 years, it has been all good times with Numrich.

They have bailed me out with hard to find parts quite a few times but other times I think their name would be GunPricks. I try Jack First on the first call when looking for parts.

Just for the record... I did finally get the correct part today.

My thanks to Ray on their forum.

I order over the internet from Numrich. I probably make 25 orders per year, and I rarely have a problem as long as I specify correctly the part number from their website that I need. They have some parts that others just don't have. Likewise, Jack First is a good source, but you need a set of their catalogs and must then call them to place an order. Parts for relatively recent guns can often be had from Brownells. Two to three times a year I find myself buying parts from ebay of all places!

About 5 years ago I received a nasty rusty part from them which was not described as such and after returning it to them never received a refund. F'em, never again.

Gun Parts never had a great reputation for sending nice parts, though I did find they usually provided you with something good if you returned the obvious piece of junk they originally sent. Sometimes they did okay, but for the most they were a hit and miss proposition.

Sometimes they are the only choice, and I am glad that they are available. Not always as described, but if you need something for a firearm that is old and long out of production..

I hear other Gun Smiths refer to them a Gun Prricks for all the reasons mentioned above. It is hit or miss for me as well.
