I have a little lightweight build that I put together. For the life of my I cannot get it to bughole. Quality parts, bedded, floated....the works.

Its a light fluted #2 contour

Any recommendations? I have been thinking about adding some pressure to barrel.

Give me your thoughts and recommendations.

Thanks

Try a couple thickness of a business card at the forearm end to check it.

Sometimes no matter what you do, the accuracy is just not there.

I have a sporterized 1903 that had pressure on the forend, it shot great that way.

When my lug screw broke one day, I decided to free float it since the old bedding material was brittle; still shoots great!

Unfortunately, I don't have a group to display... but here is today's shot.

I would think any bedding method would work if it is done properly.

Even when the bedding isn't proper, it can still shoot well.

That is 3 consecutive shots with the same sight setting about 2 inches apart, at 250 yards.
I later found that the lug screw was very loose, making the POI 1 foot lower than usual, but still precise.

Did you use a quality barrel or an ER Shaw?

Try a couple business cards.
What caliber is it, and are these snorting loads or what?

Tunacan,

If I may, what exactly are you working with?
What action, cartridge, barrel length, twist, etc.
What components are you loading and what loads have you worked up thus far?
What is the best group for this rifle?

I actually found the issue. I removed the bedding that was under the chamber area and it solved the problem....
