I never move it off of 6x should I replace it with a Schmidt and Bender 6x42mm Klassik for Africa? thanks for your input!

It probably does not matter. Leupold builds a good scope, I have the 1.75-6 VXIII and wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere.
