I have never actually seen a mcmillian mcwoody in person how does the dark mcwoody compare to the light? Which one looks more like real wood? Does one of the sponsors usually have a Christmas sale on these?

If its any help this is the result of my order : Finish: Custom Molded-In Colors (ENTER BELOW) 34% medium Brown, 33% light brown and 33% black (McWoody) Prevailing light and brightness do have an effect in the visual perception, and no matter what you order, all the Mickey stocks are an individual result.

There is only one Mcwoody. What you are seeing is the difference in picture lighting, and also that no two Mcmillans with the same recipe turn out exactly alike.
Oops - Tikka260 said the same thing above.

I thought I read somewhere that you could swap different browns to make it darker

I suppose you could use light brown instead of medium brown as the first and "dominate" color to lighten it up. May or may not turn out how you'd like. I'm imagining a poo pattern stock, rather than a wood look.
Using dark brown for a primary would likely make it really dark.
Give it a go and post up a pic, may come out great!

May come out great might look like poo. I'd like someone else to be a guinea pig. Maybe dark brown instead of black?

Nice, Josh. I'd like to get a Remington Classic just like that for my 721 .300 H&H.
