I know little about the Model 7 rifles. I see guys asking if it's a 3 screw action or a 4 screw. What's the difference other than the obvious?

That's it and the older 3 screw had the little bit shorter 18.5" barrels with sights. Seems the newer ones have 20" barrels no sights.
No deal adding the fourth hole if you want. Had a smith do that on mine so I could use the talley lw's.

I have several stainless 7s that only have three factory d&t base holes and they all came with slick 20" tubes.

3 or 4 screws for scope mounts. Rear bridge on earlier ones had 1 hole aft and 2 forward, later obviously had 2 holes aft and 2 forward for the scope mounts.
