Is there anyone who is rebuilding the spring piston, etc. on air rifles that anyone can recommend?

I would send it to Paul Watts. He one of the best airgun tuners in the US.
It could be a while before you get it back depending on how backed up he is but it's worth the wait and money.

If you want a simple factory grade spring/piston rebuild, I would call someone other than Paul Watts at this time.

Paul Watts is a fine craftsman- no doubt- but he mainly does non standard custom tune blueprinting and rebuilds. Pretty much anything he does for you in a rebuild project will be about $400 includng parts and shipping.

I would contact David Slade. I bet he could do a good factory grade rebuild for about $200 . And NOBODY inthe US (including Paul Watts or Jim Maccari) has wide range of experimnce or factory training on Spring guns that David Slade does. He was Beemans US gunsmith for many years and has factory training from many British and German makers..

Depending upon what's actually needed, you may be able to do the work yourself far cheaper. A piston seal replacement is fairly simple and the 124's spring isn't so strong that you can't do the work without a spring compressor. Just make sure you're wearing eye protection!

I've had both do work for me, and I found David much easier to work with.

Watts was extremely negative about a FWB300 that I had, bad mouthed it all over the place and said the job would be impossible. David cheerfully accepted it, and did a fine job. Main issue was the trigger was way out of adjustment, and I also had him super tune it.

I'm sure both are fine craftsmen, and my Watts tuned HW55 is great, but I'm at the point in my life where I won't accept attitude as part of the price of getting work done. With Watts it wasn't just one occasion. On another he went off on me without really hearing me out. Didn't listen, just jumped to a conclusion.

Thanks for the replies. I have gunsmithing experience on rifles and may be able to handle a simple rebuild. Where can I get information and parts for the FWB 124?
