Eeks, on the pics. The big nuts one is funny.
(Went out the other morning, and didn't see a single squirrel. Went to all my good spots and nothing. It was cold but clear. I've never seen anything like it. I'm baffled. Will head out again Monday to see what is.)

I just finally set up the "Squirrel Motel" in the yard to try and get rid of these invasive non-native Red Fox squirrels..

Man, I wish this weather would straighten up, haven't been squirrel hunting since Dec. 1st. Looked at the 7 day outlook, and maybe next Sat. I sure hope so.

If the weather forecasters have a clue what they are talking about, looks like next weekend will be in the high 30's, but maybe a little windy. If I can, gonna try and hit it both days. You boys have a Merry Christmas.

Looks like I may make it out for the last weekend of 'doe' season. I'm not super serious about it, so I'm thinking I'll take the .22 along in addition to the slugger.

I'm eating my deer tags this yr. First time I haven't shot a deer in 34 seasons. The pop. in my area is down, and I've just lost interest. However, if tomorrow and Sat. are as nice as they're talking, limb chickens beware! maddog

Limb chickens are easier to pack out than deer!

MD, I just finished getting all my freezer deer, now the fun starts. 22s and limb chickens. I had 2 limits around a deer stand on morning this week.

Our yearly mobile squirrel Camp 2013 is in the books. We did about 25 miles in three days, weather swung from 60s to the low 20s, and the squirrels were awful squirrely. But it was dry, wind was low, and campfire roasted limb chicken was featured every night (garlic and rosemary in the cavity). Here's the only pic I got before the camera crapped out (turns out, a battery sufficient to the gps, flashlight, etc. will not power the camera). Maddog, do you string through the foot or the tendon? Sharpen those clips into a big ol' safety pin? Happy holidays to all....

Finally, a beautiful day in the woods[and I'm going tomorrow]. Didn't see any squirrels, til noon. Went to a second woods, and saw 2 and got 1. Took the 10/22 again, with the iron sights. Man, it was fun. Gonna do it again tomorrow, because by the first of the week, it's gonna get colder than a well diggers azz. maddog
