A couple of years ago I found a list of common items such as files, shovels, leaf springs, bolts, etc; that showed what grade of steel everything was. It was GREAT for fabrication because you always knew where to find a good grade of steel on the cheap.

I was wondering if anyone has that, or knows where to find it? I've been doing some Googling, but apparently my Google Fu is inadequate for the taask.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Kevin

I'm familiar with that site, didn't see anything what I'm looking for on there.

Dunno. I have a handheld deal that you hold to a piece of steel and in 30 seconds it tells you what alloy it is and down to the nearest 0.1% what each element is in that alloy....of course it cost $45k.
