WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I just placed an order with Bill Goodman for my first Shiloh Sharps! It should go into production around May 22nd. It is a 1874 Hartford Model .45-70 with 30" heavy barrel, Hartford collar, semi-buckhorn sight, shotgun butt and semi-fancy wood. Not nearly as excited as you will be when you get it, which will seem to take forever! I have a saddle rifle for hunting and it is probably my favorite rifle. Know you will enjoy! TM
Some mornings, it just does not feel worth it to chew through the straps!~

Being the impatient person I am is why I ordered from Bill. It is only a $100 over the cost of ordering direct from Shiloh and it sure beats having to wait 1 1/2 plus years to get it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

pacecars, I can hear the tang sight debate coming <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif" alt="" />.. My preferance is the Baldwin. Steve makes his sights traditional, left is right and right is left <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> and for us backward sorts, he'll make, right is right and left is left model, which I have. Steve only makes a few of the right-right, left-left models a year. So call and get him to make which ever turns you on and mention I said to buy one of his sights <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />. No, you won't get a discount, it may cost you a couple bucks more though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />. No just kidding. He is a friend though. Kelley O.

Thanks. I have been looking at a Heilman, Lee Shaver and MVA so far. I will give the Baldwin a look too.

That's great! I was expecting one this month, but the wait was extended from 14 to 18 months. That's OK though, as I have a build project going that's using the startup funds for the Shiloh. Let us know what you load up and how it performs. 1Minute

I do know I need to quit calling and adding stuff <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> I added a checkered steel butt plate and am thinking about the AA finish for the wood. I have also decided to go with the Ron Heilman sights.

Ordered the sights from Mr Heilman today, just under $500 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> I am ordering all the supplies to load black powder and that will probably be another $500 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> This is gettin 'spensive <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif" alt="" />

Yeah, something like those could get addictive... FAST...
I'm thinking I eventually need a couple Shilohs. One BIG, slow bruiser in a LONG-range cannon, like maybe a .45-90 with a 30+" full octagon barrel, and one lighter, faster, more carry-friendly job, like maybe a .45-70, or a .30-40 Krag, in a half-octagon 24" barreled set-up...
Methinks you'll be VERY pleased with yours. I've been drooling over Shilohs for years... and will over the pics of yours when you get it and post 'm.

While you are down there on Shiloh's floor keep a look out for mine. Its up there to fix all the original problems and it seems to have disappeared into the bowels of their shop. 3 months so far and rumor has it might be another three. I wish I had THAT decision to make again.
