Check the Ruger website...

Those of most interest to me include:

.257 Roberts RSI

9.3x62 1S with a 22" barrel

.280 Rem in a 1A

All in wood and blue.

No 1Bs listed! And MSRP is $1399!

But the old girl is not dead yet.

The 257 Bob RSI sounds awesome. Glad to see the 1B back in the catalog.

I started to get excited about the Swift. Then I saw it is still a 1 in 14. Sigh.

Sorry, the 1Bs did not make cut this year. Typo.

Looks like they're saving a few pennies by only making short-barreled guns.

Actually, I give Ruger high marks for innovation on this mix of new #1s but probably will not buy one as those niches in my safe are already filled.

I have a 9.3x62 1B and it was done right -- 26" barrel, custom rings and bases that allow for proper scope placement, a crisp 3 lb trigger, and a custom tiger maple stock that is smashing. (I would not want a 22" barrel or an AH fore end.) I also have a 1A in 280 AI that I bought from Mule Deer. The Roberts RSI would make a sweet package for my grandson's first deer but then I already have a 6.8 SPC II carbine that fills that need.

Shoot! I have yet to see a 1-A in .222 from this years run... OR, a 6.5 CreedMoor 1-A from last year... Thus, I'm not getting too excited... grin

Ruger's overall offerings have increased expotenially over the last few years... Thus; given only x amount of manufacturing capability, it stands to reason that production of some offerings are going to suffer.

Like my friend; 1B... At least Ruger is keeping the #1 alive... smile May it remain for a long time to come...

TJQ,

If I email it to you, will you post the pict?

Can't do it myself. It's an old story.

The smith is now retired but I can send another pict by an active smith too.

Regards,

Man, I've been downsizing like crazy. Now Ruger is finally going to chamber the 1-S in 9.3x62 with a 22" barrel. Here I go, about to jump off the cliff again...

I've been wondering what they would offer this year. I have always admired #1s, but only got my first one a few years ago (1A .257 Roberts - sort of a dream gun for me). I find myself thinking a lot about my second one. I'm pretty committed this year to spending most of my gun/hunting/fun money on a couple of trips so I'm a little relieved they aren't chambering something this year I feel like I have to have! That .280 would be really nice though . . . smile

The #1S in 9.3x62 might be a good option instead of the CZ.
It would pair up nicely with my 22 Hornet, which I really like after a couple of cold range sessions. Bought it from some "fly
by night" operation down in Texas.
I will get pics up eventually.
