I posted this on another forum as well, as I wanted opinions from folks shooting these bullets. I have read many posts that either extolled the accuarcy of 30 gr. kindler golds in 1/9" twist barrels, or poster's claiming tumbling or at least poor accuarcy with same bullets and 1/9" barrels. I am fairly certain the people achieving good results shoot at higher altitudes then the people that get poor results. Anybody shooting the Golds at 6000 foot elevation or above that experience bullet tumble or lousy accuarcy in 1/9" twist barrels? Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks, Buck

I do most of my calling in elevations that range from 4300'- 6300' and I'm running the 30 Golds out of my .17/204 and haven't had any accuracy issues and they have performed pretty well on coyotes, although I've gotten several complete pass throughs with them. No problem killing coyotes, just wish the bullet wouldn't pass through at all.

I'm not shooting them over 6000 elevation more like 900 but I do shoot them out of my 1/9 twist 17-204 with very good accuracy no coyotes yet only a crow and some groundhogs but have had a few runners using them on groundhogs

Shooting them out of my 9 twist Tac at 1000 ft sea level, shooting great. Hammers the coyotes. I will send you a few if you want to try them out before pulling the trigger on a whole box, shoot me a PM with shipping info.

I shoot them, and they are accurate in my cz 527, but I have read posts that the 30 gr. Kindler Gold wouldn't group or tumbled for some shooters that stated other 30 gr bullets were deadly accurate. I was trying to understand why other 30 gr. bullets shot accurately for them, yet the kindlers were not giving adequate accuracy. Buck

Maybe the boat tail? Either that or they have a longer bearing surface. Dont know, but glad my gun likes them, 30 grain bullets are scarce. I hope Chan starts making bullets again, his stuff was more accurate in most my guns by a pretty good margin.

to my eyes, it looks like the new and old Berger 30 gr. bullets actually have a longer bearing surface than does the longer Gold bullet. I don't know, but I've found very good accuracy with each of them.

You guys who're missing the Bergers might toddle over to saubier.com, I think they're putting together on a group buy of a large number of Berger 30s. There was talk of it a short while back. Berger will make them, if enough are ordered. Saubier's archives are a bit tough to muddle thru, but if you want 'em, it'd be worth the effort to find that thread.

The group buy is over. It was for 25 grainers.
