Yeah they got it sorted even before the new motors came out, but now access is much easier than it was on the old motor too. Actually have some room to work under there now.

Easier to work on? What kind of work are you doing? Just curious...

Double ought F250 seven dot three with 260,000 miles and still the same 6 speed trans and second set of breaks.

They fixed the spark plug issue in the early 2000's. I just picked up a '06 F-150 with 87k on it and just for [bleep] and giggles as part of the deal I asked for a tune-up. I got the deal so I'm not arguing.

Had a '98 150 and had to replace the heater core. I swear Ford built the cab around that dang thing. Total PIA.

Bullchit.

Double Bullchit.

Triple Bullchit. Owned about 8 Fords, don't believe I have ever done brakes. And I tow some pretty heavy trailers. Had most of them for at least 100,000 miles.

It took me longer. I had to do mine in the parking lot where I worked. Of course they never go out in the summer time when it's warm.

192k on a 92 F150 2wd with the 300 six. The trans was acting up, but the motor was still good.

145k on a 98 4x4 ext cab w. 4.6 V8 - motor & trans still good, just had a chance to get a screamer deal on an 04.

now 166k on the 04 4x4 with 24V 5.4. Motor still good, trans still good.More than a few miles off road, several cross country trips, too.

I drove an 2012 Screw Platinum 4x4 with the Ecoboost yesterday. More power, seems to get 2-3 mpg better than the 04.

They seem to steadily improve them with each iteration

Buy Ford's brake pads. None of the aftermarket I've tried last as long as OE Ford pads

2010 F150 King Ranch 4X4

Just rolled over 100K--Have never touched my brake pads or rotors---I have bought my last chevy.

Putting a Cummins in a Dodge is like sticking a diamond up a goats ass.

Just my opinion.

I have never owned a Ford truck, but this commercial almost made a buyer out of me...

Referring mainly to spark plugs on the new 5.0 as opposed to the old 5.4. Wish they would of put the altenator in a better spot, but whatya do. The 6.2 isn't that bad either, even though your doing twice the number of plugs. I worked in a Ford shop for a couple years, now in an independent shop.

Quadruple Bullchit.

Owned 3 of them. I do a lot of driving close to the Mississippi river (sandy, loamy soil) and I would be replacing breaks at 20,000-25,000 miles on all of them.

The last one was 2012 F-150 Lariat 4x4. Brakes replaced, Electric power steering went out. Wiper motor went bad, electric window problems, electric mirrors quit working, A/C fan replaced.

I traded it with less than 50,000 miles on it. The others I owned were much better than this last one though.

I had an early 90's f150 with the 4.9 6cyl. Awesome motor, truck itself was kinda a piece of chit. Always had issues with the clutch. Gave it away with about 250k on it.

Now I have a 2000 f250 with the V10. Rides rougher than hell, but hey, it's a 3/4 ton. Kinda expect it to.
Brakes need done again. That's twice with about 132k on the clock. It don't like to shift into third (it's a manual). Power windows don't like to work quite as well as they should. Overall it's a better truck than my last one.

I'd buy another Ford.
