I like the looks of the SnK, but there's no question there is repeated movement/slippage of the scope on my .300 wsm,
Any ideas? I believe I've seen where gurus added a drop of caulk between scope and ring?
Others?

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

Ive noticed the same thing on my 7mm08. Scope was moving forward. Its possible I didnt have the cone screws tight enough.Have retightened them, so will see how they go.
Have noticed the machining on the inside of the rings doesnt appear to be as good as it could be, maybe lapping might help?? I see in there installation instructions they say that you can use a "gasket sealant" on heavy recoiling rifles. They also advise cleaning inside of rings with alchol before installing scope.
Im sure if you contacted them they would be most helpful. Ive had great customer service from them...

I have used liquid electrical tape with good results heavy kickers like a 416 Rigby. Just line the inside of the rings with a light coat. It will clean off easily if you decide to change scopes. Talley recommends using clear nail polish for slippage issues with their rings.

I'd lap the rings to ensure max contact.

Tighten them up tighter Kenneth!
S&K's won't slip if tightened enough and with the clamping pressure applied completely around the scope tube you won't dent or mark up your tube either. Even my 22oz Vortex never slipped in my S&K's.

+1 nsaqam. I believe the nail polish is for putting a dab on the cone screws after tightening in lieu of the blue (not red) loctite. S and K's here on out for me.

I have done this before with the sticky part against the rings and the back or a bit more rubbery side against the scope tube, not how much it would help "sliding" but sure is tacky when removing a scope and does not leave ring marks.I trimmed the tape so you couldn't see it was even there when done

A set of rings that requires tape, caulk, rosin or nail polish to keep the scope from moving...sounds like a winner.

I've used the tape in Talley light Weights cause I wanted to didn't say I needed to . Noticed my 1st post "not know how much it would help "slipping"" but yes I agree with you if you HAD to have it I would choose another route on the next set

Like dogcatcher223s, post, any rings that need help are not rings that I want. However I ordered S&K rings for my 300 H&H project and now i'm wondering if they will be up to the task. If they cant do the job without the help of "gunk" they will go down the road.

Others? I mean no offense at all, but my guess would be that you just need to tighten them more. My first set of S&Ks are on a fairly light weight 3o-o6 that gets shot and banged around a lot. Saddle scabbards and backpack hunting banged around. I didn't use any special glues or gasket type material when I installed them, didn't even degrease them. The VX3 and ring combo haven't moved in going on 4 years.
I've seen more well-shot game lost with TSXs than any other premium bullet.

No offense taken, but I have cranked the screws as hard as the little wrench will allow,
Also, I have done this two or 3 times, the scope is slipping and it's obvious...
