I've owned 4 different NF scopes now. The 2.5-10x32 with NP-R2 reticle, the new 2.5-10x42 with MOAR reticle, 5.5-22x50 with NP-R1 and now a 5.5-22x56 with MOAR reticle. I love them all. The new 2.5-10x42 with the MOAR reticle, Digilum dual (red and green) illumination and Power Throw Lever is pure magic. It's high speed, 20 moa per revolution has the more positive, tactile, adjustments I've ever felt in a turret. They even updated it by throwing in parallax adjustment on the left turret. I don't worry about babying any of these scopes (though I do) since they're built like tanks. I know if I shoot at 1000 yds, whether I dial up 27 moa, hold over 27 moa or dial a combination of the two (say dial 10 and hold 17 moa), i'll be right on to hit my intended target.
With that said, they are expensive and heavy. NF is making a new, less expensive 4-14x56 SHV (ShooterHunterVarmint) that is supposed to cost over 25% less. It's a few oz lighter than the 3-15x50, practically the same size, no ZeroStop, illum or non-illum with either choice of IHR or MOAR for a reticle.
Oh yeah, me personally, for your .243, I'd choose either the new SHV or the 2.5-10x42.
