My Christmas present to mice elf just arrived. I had high expectations and they were met.
I've got to decide if I'm going to hold on to it and let my 18 month old get it bloody, or break it in for him.

This is the second Kious fixed blade that I've bought. I managed to lose the first one about 6 hours after receiving it. I hope to hold on to this one a bit longer.

I am guessing this knife is 25 years old. Whoever had it, didnt do much with it, it looks all but new

I've been knife making about 4 or 5 years now, and I'll tell you, I just sit in amazement when I see a knife with such nice fit and finish. I don't know how they do it. You've got a tapered tang knife but the bolsters are sitting flat, and the scales are perfectly recessed into them. There are liners between the scales and handle and they are nice and straight. No spaces... Awesome. I know from reading a whole lot of articles that Herron knives are mentioned over and over for flawless fit and finish, but others are darn good. It's a big deal and s few people get it. Certainly something to aspire to.

As noted, really nice fit and finish.
Break it in for the young un. It can be renewed if you overuse it.

Willowcreek I had a feeling it was Joe's work, but from the first pictures couldn't see his mark. Very nice! If you lose that one make sure I am around. LOL

I was pleased to learn that the blade is D2. I believe that the sheath was made by Jim Layton, but am not certain of it.
