Got this late season mountain buck yesterday. Caught him slipping back to his bedding area, probably got caught out late from chasing the ladies all night. He was only 3.5 years old, I would like to have seen him at 4.5 or 5.5. I killed his dad last year out of the same stand.

Racks are similar, short G2s for one. The buck from last year was 5.5 years old.

Great deer. Congrats. Things are dead in the piedmont of SC - tons of tracks on food plots and roads but no daylight movement

When I hunt this area I usually carry the Remington model 7- 7mm-08, Because it is a pretty good hike to get down in there. But the last few times I have carried the Remington 700- 300WM, I was thinking about selling that rifle so I decided to carry it a few times before season ends. Nothing like hearing the 300WM roar down the hollows.LOL..
