If there is any proof of a man in a hunt it is not whether he killed a deer or elk but how he hunted it.

Size first, trim later if necessary.

You can set up the size die so you make a "false shoulder" when sizing down the neck.

Many caribou have died from 7mm bullets within a quarter mile of a Lake City hull lying empty on the tundra. smile

I have tons of hand loads 260 rounds that say 308 on the bottom of them....so the 7/08 should be even easier...

After sizing .308 to 7-08 you will likely never need to trim a case. Sizing them down to 7mm shortens the neck.

Yup.

I've done this to countless 30-06 turned .270 cases in the past.
Trim to true up the case mouth and make them all the same length.

Don't shorten the cases! Run them through the die, load up and shoot.

you sure of that? I would think it would make them longer, but also,I think the 7-08 case is longer than the 308.

7-08 brass is .020 longer than .308 brass, so when the .308 is necked down to 7-08 it comes out short.
