Yes, remember all the doom and gloom from a lot of people? He sure has made a difference and holds guys accountable. Right away you could see they were much more aggressive, Vignealt did a good job for years but it became obvious it was time for a change. I like Torts and it so far looks like he has learned how to navigate around all those weasels in the media. Can't really think of a different word for some of those guys......

Could be wrong, but I think I've even seen the Sedins throw a body check or two this year ... not much, but it's a beginning.

I'm a hockey fan, and I live in B.C., but I only become a bit of a Canucks fan at playoff time after most other Canadian based teams have been eliminated.

I'm a Canuck fan, from the days when they would lose the final to Portland.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the WHL Canucks beat Portland in the finals to win the year before the Canucks entered into the NHL ??
It's a few years ago and there's been a lot of attrition in the brain cell count since then but I was there cheering the 'Nucks on.
Remember the Buckaroos Connie Madigan? The most hated hockey player in the WHL if you were a Canuck fan. He ended up being a "skate on" actor in the original Slap Shot, playing a goon. He fit the role. smile
We've been lucky in BC having the Canucks, arguably the best NHL team in Canada over the past decade. No Cups frown but competitive and an up beat style every year.

In the last year of the WHL Canucks, they loaded up with veterans in preparation for their entry into the NHL. Had they kept that team together, they might have been respectable. But until recently, cheap and bad management has been a constant.

The 2010-2011 Canucks were a great team, if the officiating hadn't changed during the playoffs...........
When Gillis complained, he got slapped with a hefty fine.
