Does anyone have a Savage 14 of 16 in .250 Savage? What can you tell me about them?

I have a Savage 16 in 250 Savage.

I think that they are heavy.Mine with a 2X7 Leupold with 4X4 rings and a leather sling goes 9lbs. Thats with the Accustock or wood I have both.

It does shoot though. With 75 gr.V-max and RL-15 I get 3300+vel. and under an inch.

H-4350 and 100 grainers are 2900+
H4350 and 117-120 go 2800 & 117RN at 2733. Works well on close-up whitetails.
These loads are all around 1 to 1.25"

I do get better accuracy with reformed 22-250 brass than with 250 head stamped brass.(Win or Rem)

I like mine. comfortable cartridge to shoot, I've gotten the best accuracy with 87's and H4895. I like the weight and balance of the rifle, although it is heavier than a 250 needs to be. trigger adjusted down to 3 lbs on mine with no creep.

they are overpriced IMO, but they do work well. easy cartridge to shoot and reload for. kills whitetails well too.

Had one just like n8dawg6's for a bit. Average weight, accurate. I'd have kept it but I have two .257 Roberts rifles I prefer. I only tried two loads; Reloder 15 and the 100 Hornady and factory Rem 100's. MOA accuracy with little effort.
