Formulae for target sighting?
What is the formulae for calculating how high the bullet pattern should be at 100 yards for dead-on at X yards? Presumably it includes MV in fps.

Not the exact formulae (there are a variety of exterior ballistics books available for purchase that cover way more than you'll probably ever want to know that have them), but it'll work pretty well and costs... nothing:

This is a far superior way to start than the most commonly recommended approach "shoot up a few boxes of ammo until you understand."

While there is no substitute for a 'hard zero' i.e. go out and put theory to the test in the real world and see if the bullets really land where the 'puter says they should... I for one think it's nice to be able to know what to expect. Of course, when real world results don't match the computer printout... thats where the fun begins <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
