How many IB users(Or other poly tip bullets like Swift, Nosler etc.) have found the polymer tips on their bullets get pretty dinged up under recoil, while in the magazine.

My .338 RUM beats the snot out of the tips under recoil. Have not tested the effects of deformation on accuracy yet, but will be shortly.

Having never used poly tipped bullets, until recently, I was under the impression that the tips were not supposed to deform like lead.

Under RUM recoil, with OAL's as long as fits in the magazine (like most of us run), yes, they'll flatten a little. My 300 does this to AccuBonds. However, compared with what it does to lead tips it's still pretty minor. This is one area where the match style HP/open tips have an advantage.

The hardest recoiling gun that I have shot interbonds through is a 7 STW.No flat points so far.

The bullet on top of the stack takes the most abuse as it slams into the bottom edge of the feed ramp. The tip gets slightly bent as well as scuffed on one half where it meets the edge of the ramp. The other two noses in the bottom of the box only get a flattened tip; 1/16" diameter roughly.

I really don't care about bullet cosmetics, so long as accuracy is retained. As a side note, I fired some IL lead tips for comparison and found the flattened nose diameter to be larger, but the tip remained unbent to the eye.
