PHOENIX (AP) � Action-movie star Steven Seagal says he is considering a run for Arizona governor.
The �Marked for Death� actor told KNXV-TV that he is considering a shot at the state�s highest office and has had a talk about the bid with the self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in America.
The 61-year-old made the comments while talking about his newly released reality series �Steven Seagal � Lawman: Maricopa County.�
Seagal teamed up with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio for the show that was shot in Arizona and airs on cable TV�s Reelz Channel.
The martial arts expert is a member of Arpaio�s posse, made up of 3,000 unpaid civilians. He also has been deputized with sheriff�s offices in New Mexico, Texas and Louisiana and says he wants to increase border security.
The Mayans had it right. If you�re going to predict the future, it�s best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

Steven Seagal is a 61-year-old actor and member of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's civilian "posse" who says he is ready to run for Arizona governor on a platform of increasing border security.
Seagal has been deputized "with sheriff's offices in New Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana."
According to CBS Las Vegas, the actor spent a lot of time with Arpaio while filming "Steven Seagal--Lawman: Maricopa County," and emerged from that thinking about the need to secure the border. He says he discussed his thoughts on a gubernatorial bid with Arpaio but did not provide details of that discussion.
If Seagal does run for statewide office, he has a long history of seeming exaggeration and odd behavior he will have to explain to voters. Vice has a list of Seagal's more outrageous statements which may escaped the attention of many TV viewers and Arizona voters. Everything I just read about him states he's a staunch supporter of the 2nd, hates Obama, loves Putin, wants to protect the environment, and killed a puppy in a police raid.
I'd say the 'fire will go 50/50 on this guy.
