old stuff did the same thing ...play merle haggard and the George jones' songs... back to back >> "I think i'll just stay here and drink" ...AND I don't need no rocken chair.....enough said. btw the guy that put that vid together is a libtard.
That's a fact. Most of the singers that are considered "real" country today would get turned off as a bunch of long-haired dopeheads by my Dad and his generation.
So, are you sayin' the Red Headed Stranger ain't country?
Are you sayin the red headed stranger ain't a long haired dope head?! laffin

Of course not. Everybody after Gene Autry and Floyd Crammer were considered hippies by my Dad's generation. Singers like Willie, Waylon and Merle were like the gansta rappers of the '60's. Conway Twitty wasn't liked by anybody but little girls. My point is that music changes, and what the young folks like is what will last.
The only thing worse than a liberal is a liberal that thinks they're a conservative.

I was just razzin Taknee over his emphasis on "country" instead of the drug issue. I was talkin to a road manager of one of the very folks you just mentioned and he told me that back in the day it took over 35 thousand dollars worth of cocaine a month just to keep the rodies and support crew together for a cross country tour....it was crazy.
