Nope, not 1950. That one is from late 1945 to early 1946. It predates the date stamp on the lever, so the 3 is just an inspector's stamp.
Very nice EG! Neither of those sights will be correct for that vintage of an EG. Don't have a pic of a correct sight handy.

+1. I've got a similar 1941 EG in 250 with Lyman Alaskan setup. I didn't even think of taking the Stith off that one. If I did, I'd probably put a blank in the rear sight slot and look for a nice Lyman 57 to go on it rather than putting a rear sight back on. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.savagefest.net/my_99s/1941_99EG_250/Right_Full.JPG)

I agree , sight not original, but most of the eg's came with a buckeye sight which if you found one would put it back to original state. They are not numbered to the rifle. The barrel site you have look like they came off an 1899 specimen.
