I would like to pick one of these up I always wanted to build a 6x47 but after reading and talking to friends I want to go with a 6x45 let me m ow what you have if someone had a 223 bolt 700 or model 70 action I would by that and send it to redneck for a makeover

If you want to go with the AR platform, go with Dan Carey in AZ. I have one of his customs in 6x45 and it shoots lights out. He uses Shilen match stainless barrels, and has tons of options. His prices are very reasonable (my rifle with match trigger was under $1200) and his lead time is 6 to 7 WEEKS which is amazing if you ask me. My 2 cents. T.S.

How about picking up ShortActionSmoker's barrel for a Savage?

What are the shortactionsmokers barrels. I couldn't find any individual who made them. Any info or contact info is appreciated.

I used a McGowan 6x45 from Gun Shack for my build on a Savage model 10,shoots extremely well.Stocky's thumbhole laminate stock,single shot adapter from SSS.Nice looking rig and great on the prairie dog town,low recoil,cheaper to reload and brass is plentiful.What more could you want?
