Shot one a work buddy has, neither of us could hit anything with it. I took a look at it, it hadn't been cleaned since the Ford administration and there was nothing left of the lands and grooves. 6" smooth bore pistol. Action was still good.

I'll bet there are riflings in it and it just needs a good borebrush and some elbow grease.
Years ago I had one and it was an excellent shooter given the moderate cost of it.

You may want to try some JB compound and a bronze (not nylon) brush. It may surprize You.

Grew up with 1 in the house, and bought one myself. Both were very good shooters.

Don't see how it could be smooth unless hyper cleaned over a long time. Likely gummed up.

I've got a double nine that love or money could not part me from. they are excellent shooters.

Very rare to have a shot out bore on a .22 rimfire. Rusted out, yes. I have my wifes grandfathers Winchester 67 "barn gun" that was used almost exclusivly with bird shot and appeard to have a smooth bore. After much cleaning the lead in the grooves came out in ribbons and the bore is perfect now.

Most of these have an aluminum frame, one drop on a hard surface can really mess them up. I lost a double nine that way. Numrich does have barrels for them, but if the frame has been stretched, it would be real difficult to salvage.

I had one when I was a kid. I shot it so often I wore the guts out and had to have a gunsmith install new parts but the barrel was fine.
Like others said.....get out the bore brush.
