I did always feel the old "chrome" finish was something that would be a bit out of it's element when taken afield on a sunny day. I'm sure it's perfect for rainy coastal Alaska.

All the superficial or small scratches on my all weather .35 whelen were all taken care of with a little love with a scotch brite pad. Just blends right in.
