I recently acquired a 280AI - I currently have Nosler, Swift and Barnes bullets but only have load data from the Nosler book. Is it safe to use the powder selections for the 140g and 150g Nosler bullets for 140g and 150g loads using the 140TSX and 150 Swifts - assuming I start at the low and work up looking for pressure.
Or does anyone have any good loads to share for the 150G swift and 140g TSX
Also - I spent some time doing COAL measurements tonight - seems like the bullets have to be way out there to touch the lands - is that normal for the 280AI or just my rifle (Nosler M48)?

I can't help much but I see Hodgdon has load data for that cartridge, here is a LINK

Edit to add, Swift and Barnes bullets shoot best when jumped .050" or more, in my experience. The Swift have copper jackets and are sticky. The Barnes are solid and hard and need a jump or pressures will jump. Read the load notes from both makers first.
I try to seat the bullets out to the lands only when using cup and core bullets in target rifles.YMMV

No help on load data, but having to seat bullets way out to touch the lands is pretty typical on a non-custom built rifles. The throat has to be cut to accept any factory loaded ammo.

60-62 grains of H4831 should get you where you want to be with both bullets.

I use the Nosler book H4831 for my cold weather 140 grain TTSX loads and Re 22 and same bullet for warm weather antelope hunting. Same POI, close velocities.

If you're after velocity, MAGPRO should beat out the other powders you have.

It is not uncommon at all for the COAL of a cartridge that touches the lands to be far too long to function in the magazine.
